Jeff Alexander, MD, Medical Director
Jeff Alexander, M.D., is owner and Medical Director of the Skin Care Institute, L.L.C., Medical and Wellness Spa in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is certified by the American Board of Dermatology and has over 30 years experience in skin care.
Dr. Alexander is a graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical School and the University of Oklahoma Dermatology Program. He has served as president of the Oklahoma Dermatological Society and the Tulsa Dermatological Society.
Dr. Alexander is the past chairman of the Department of Dermatology at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He has served on the speaker’s bureau for GlaxoSmithKline, SkinCeuticals, Novartis Pharmaceuticals and SkinMedica. He is a Luminary for Inmode Laser Technologies and a physician trainer for Kythera Biopharmaceuticals. He has also served as Assistant Clinical Professor and Dermatology Instructor for medical students and residents at the University of Oklahoma.
In 1999, Dr. Alexander opened the first medical spa in Oklahoma, and one of the first in the Midwest, the Skin Care Institute. In January 2012, Dr. Alexander expanded to include wellness services. By combining cutting edge laser technology with aesthetic, medical and wellness procedures, he paved the way for others in the industry. As medical director of the Skin Care Institute in Tulsa, Dr. Alexander introduced laser hair removal, intense pulsed light FotoFacial™ rejuvenation, CoolSculpting®, Fraxel, Ultherapy, Kybella® and Inmode Aesthetic Solutions to Oklahoma. He was awarded the prestigious honor of being one of the top two in North America for “Best Skin Tightening and Overall Results” by Reliant Technologies, manufacturer of the Fraxel re:pair™ laser. Oklahoma Magazine readers consistently vote him “Top Doctor” in Dermatology. His medical spa is repeatedly included in Oklahoma Magazine’s “Best of the Best” and Tulsa People Magazine’s “A-List”.
Mary Armstrong, RN, BSN, JD
Mary Armstrong graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Central Oklahoma where she received the Outstanding Nursing Student and Outstanding Clinical Nurse Awards. She began her nursing career working in the field of Labor and Delivery and continued in the areas of surgery, allergy and office management. In 2000, Mary entered what would become her career passion when she began working for Dr. Alexander specializing in acne treatment/prevention and aesthetic dermatology.
In 2005 Mary returned to academics and earned her Juris Doctorate degree with Honors from the University of Tulsa College of Law certifying in Health Law. Specializing in medical malpractice defense, Mary combined legal and nursing careers until she returned to Dr. Alexander full-time in 2010. She currently serves as an aesthetic nurse specialist and as Clinical Director of the Skin Care Institute.
With fifteen years experience in cosmetic dermatology, Mary has extensive knowledge and expertise in skin care and aesthetic dermatologic procedures. She is certified in a wide range of injectables, IPL, Fraxel laser, Ultherapy and radiofrequency. Mary believes in providing comprehensive personal attention to each client and looks forward to utilizing her knowledge and expertise to assist each client bring forth the most beautiful person within.
Jenna Case, Aesthetician
Jenna Case, Aesthetician, has more than 12 years of experience in the beauty industry as a trusted skin care expert. She began her career at Body Reneux Medical Spa, where she discovered her passion and love for skin care and helping people feel their best. Driven by her inquisitive passion for skin care, she learned much from her experiences at Tulsa Surgical Arts. After receiving her diploma in aesthetics from Clary, she partnered with Revolution Health Medical Spa and grew her love into a business. Her passion for her clients is evident in every service she performs. Extensive product knowledge helps Jenna to design a personalized skin care regimen for each client. Jenna joined the team at Skin Care Institute and continues to advance her skills with certifications in CoolSculpting®, laser hair removal and Fraxel®. She prides herself on implementing and excelling with cutting edge technology under the supervision of Dr. Alexander.
Amber Rhodes, Aesthetician
Amber Rhodes is an experienced aesthetician and Tulsa native. She graduated from Clary Sage College in 2010. She has 10 years’ experience in the skincare industry and has a passion for helping clients achieve their most Instagram-worthy skin! A well-rounded professional who is eager to assist her guests in skin care, Amber’s goal is to make her clients feel beautiful, rejuvenated, and confident through facial treatments and relaxation. In addition to spa facial treatments, Amber is versed in everything aesthetics, from waxing and brow and lash treatments, to our full line of chemical peels and HydrafacialMD treatments.
Sarah Bower, RN, BSN, MA
Sarah Bower, RN, BSN, MA, has lived and traveled around the globe, from California to Japan. She has traveled with nomads in Mongolia and backpacked through India and Nepal. She completed a month-long intensive Buddhist meditation and contemplative retreat in Nepal and a 10-day silent retreat. Sarah also completed a month-long nursing mission trip in Honduras. Sarah has three degrees—two bachelor’s and a master’s. Sarah received her BSN from Oklahoma City University, where she was elected President of the Student Nurse Association and graduated with the honorary Heart of Nursing Award for exhibiting the true spirit of nursing.
In 2014, Sarah moved to Dallas for rigorous training in aesthetics with a leader in the industry. Sarah is a Certified Aesthetic Nurse injector and laser specialist, as well as a graduate of CoolSculpting University®. When you meet Sarah, you can’t help but notice her genuine spirit and warm, caring heart. Since becoming a nurse, she has worked hospice, dialysis, surgery, pre-op and post-op, and now aesthetics. Sarah enjoys combining her artistic eye with hard science. She finds fulfillment in helping patients boost their self-esteem by achieving their aesthetic goals. Each one of Sarah’s unique and life-changing experiences is fueled by a strong and constant sense of compassion. Her daily goal is to have a significant and positive effect on patients and their loved ones.
Penni Garland, ARNP, MSN
Penni Garland, ARNP, MSN, has worked in the health care industry in Northeastern Oklahoma since 2001. Penni received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana. She earned her Master of Science degree in nursing at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Board-certified by the National Certification Corporation (NCC), Penni is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the Oklahoma Nurse Practitioner Association and the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health. She has been a women’s health nurse practitioner since 2002. “Before becoming a nurse practitioner,” she explains, “I was a labor and delivery nurse. I’ve always been passionate about women’s health.” Penni encourages patients to take care of themselves. “Healthy eating, avoiding processed foods and getting plenty of rest and exercise are keys to better health,” she says. Prior to joining Skin Care Institute, Penni worked for Midtown Dermatology, Utica Park Clinic, Okmulgee OBGYN, Ideal Image and Willis Knighton Health System in Shreveport, Louisiana. Penni’s personal interests include cooking, music, college football, antique shopping and spending time with her two grand-daughters.
Jan Hodges
Jan Hodges is originally from a small town outside Wichita, Kansas, where she grew up and learned to love sports, particularly track and field. She earned a degree in physical education with an athletic training and nutrition emphasis. She worked 14 years in the fitness, nutrition and weight loss industries before staying home to raise her daughter. Jan went back to work in a medical spa and found a new passion. She studied extensively to learn about all the technology and products available for skin rejuvenation, and was soon entrusted to perform consultations for the doctor and nurses on staff. When asked about her position with Skin Care Institute, Jan responds, “I love working with such an amazing company under the direction of Dr. Jeff Alexander. I feel that all my hard work has paid off, and that I’m finally with the very best of medical spas.” Jan’s favorite part of her job is educating clients to help them achieve the improvements they desire.
